About Hook & Newnham Tennis Club

The courts are situated on the far end of the George V1 Playing Fields in Hook close to The Hoggett crossroads. Members can enjoy playing on expertly maintained hard courts adjacent to common land in an area of special scientific interest. An idyllic spot to enjoy a game of tennis during the Summer evenings. There are two tennis courts in excellent condition surrounded by a high net fence. All subscriptions and fund raising are used to maintain the high standard of the courts. The bar at the Cricket Club Pavilion is available to tennis club members when open for cricket activities and we have access to the toilets when the bar is closed. Car parking is adjacent to the pavilion. Everyone with some experience of playing tennis is welcome. You do not have to be a match player. Age is no barrier as longer as you have a certain level of fitness so that you can enjoy your time on the court. You will have the opportunity to play with all levels of ability during club sessions and also time to get to know other members. All members can use the courts to play with other members when they are not being used for matches. Club evenings are on Thursdays and also Sunday afternoons. During these sessions everyone mixes in and balls are provided. A committee member is always present to help with the organisation of these sessions.
