Walking football is a rapidly developing area of the beautiful game for those over 50. It is recognised as a great way of improving overall health and fitness for those of older years with its combination of physical and mental activity, together with improving their social contacts. In doing so, this supports the principle of ‘Active Ageing’ by adding to the health and wellbeing of all those whom play. Think of 5- or 6-a-side football, and then imagine playing it. Not running, but walking. Add in the absence of robust tackling and you’ll have a good idea of Walking Football.

The group has two weekly sessions: Mondays 18:30-20:00 at Yateley Hockey Club (4G Pitch)
Thursdays 14:00-15:30 at Yateley Hockey Club(4G Pitch)

About Yateley United Football Club

Yateley United Football Club was formed in 2013 bringing together the following four football clubs in Yateley: Beaulieu, Yateley Green, Yateley Adults and Yateley Youth. The youth section has teams in all age groups (from Under 7 to Under 18) as well as an Under 6 academy. The adults have a number of men’s teams and a ladies team and offers regular walking football sessions for the over 50s. An FA Charter Standard football club, the club’s home is Sean Devereux Park but teams use other pitches in and around Yateley for matches and training. Sean Devereux Park is owned by the club and has development plans in place which will include a club house due to be opened in 2022.
