REMAP - Farnborough Branch

About

REMAP is the UK’s only charity providing custom-made equipment, free of charge for disabled people. Every year they help an average of 3,000 people through their local 60 volunteer-run branches. The nearest REMAP branch is in Farnborough (with Berkshire being the next nearest branch).

To request a bespoke piece of equipment that could help you, please look at the examples of equipment that have been made by REMAP volunteers, then complete a referral form. If they can help, REMAP will connect you with your nearest branch. One of their volunteers will visit you at your home/school to discuss your situation and understand what you need. They will then work with you to either adapt existing items or make a new piece of equipment that suits your needs. The branch volunteers will keep in touch with you until it is complete.

Some examples of equipment/adaptations that the Farnborough branch have been able to make are: support seat for a wayfarer dinghy, shower seat, portable steps for car access, children's buggy adaptation.

About REMAP

REMAP’s mission is to improve the quality of life for people who experience short or long-term disability through infirmity, illness, or ageing. They do this by making and adapting equipment to meet the unique needs of individuals at no cost to them. The equipment, produced by their team of dedicated volunteers, can help with day-to-day tasks such as mobility, personal care or eating. Or it can enable the client to pursue a hobby or ambition, such as participating in a sport or art activity. All of the work is carried out and checked by expert engineers, carpenters, technicians and occupational therapists. REMAP's skilled volunteers provide innovative, practical solutions to everyday challenges where there is nothing commercially available to support your needs.
