Motor Neurone Disease Association - North Hampshire Group

About

The MNDA North Hampshire Group covers Andover, Aldershot, Farnham, Fleet, Basingstoke and Alton areas. The group is run entirely by volunteers and aims to provide the best possible support to local people with MND, their families, and carers.

The North Hampshire Group currently has one Volunteer Association visitor in this area who provides check-in calls, and emails and offers Face2Face visits if required. The group facilitates support groups which they have found are the most useful ways to offer support as they provide peer-to-peer support from others who are on a similar journey with MND.

The in-person support group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Redfields Garden Centre in Church Crookham.

There are also a number of online support groups - more details at the weblink below.

About Motor Neurone Disease Association

MND is the short term for motor neurone disease, which affects the nerves known as motor neurones. These nerves are found in the brain and spinal cord and they help tell your muscles what to do. If you have MND, this means your movement will be affected and you are likely to get a wide range of symptoms.
The Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) provides a range of support: MND Connect Helpline, Benefits Advice Service, Equipment Loan, Financial Support Grants, Free will-writing Service, Communications Aids Service, Care Centres and Community Services, Wheelchair Support. Local Branches also help to connect people affected by MND.
