The Housing & Community Services department consists of the Strategy and Development Team, Private Sector Housing Team (housing standards, and disabled facilities grants), the Housing Solutions Team and the Social Inclusion and Partnerships Team. All of the teams can provide you with information, assistance and advice on a range of housing issues.

The Housing & Community Services aims to help local people find housing solutions by:
- Maximising delivery of high quality, suitable and affordable new homes throughout the district
- Enabling local people to find their own housing solutions
- Making the best use of all housing, both new build and existing housing
- Working in partnerships to create sustainable and healthier communities
