Hart Voices
About
As a mixed voice choir, Hart Voices welcomes singers of all voice types from any age group! They are a non-auditioned choir but the standard of singing is generally pretty high, so it is recommended that you can at least sing in tune and read music. Some experience of sight singing would also be a definite advantage since there is often a lot of music to get through in a term which could be a little bit challenging for anyone who has not had previous experience.
However, do not let that put you off, you may have a really good ear for music or just fancy a challenge and Hart Voices are always willing to help out new members where possible.
Hart Voices performs four concerts per year across three terms running from September to July. Concerts vary from major choral works and lesser-known ambitious chorale spectaculars to varied chamber music programmes and the occasional varied programme of popular numbers! It also includes their hugely popular Carol Concert in aid of the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice each December.
Rehearsal Nights are Wednesday evenings 20.00-22.00 at All Saints Parish Centre in Fleet.
About Hart Voices
Based in Fleet this mixed-voice choir dates back to the early 1960's. Singers are drawn not only from Fleet and the surrounding area, but also outlying towns including Guildford and Basingstoke. Choir membership is currently around 40 voices, many of whom have sung with the choir for several years. The combined experience and enthusiasm enables us to explore new musical horizons - both in repertoire and venue. We aim to broaden our experience, strive for quality and musicality in our performances and involve young singers wherever possible. Soloists are drawn from the choir, although for more complex works we often invite professional singers to participate.
