About Fleet & Crookham Local History Group

Fleet & Crookham Local History Group was founded in 1985 for people with an interest in the history of Fleet, Church Crookham, Crookham Village and their immediate area in this corner of northeast Hampshire.
What the Local History Group does
• Researching, recording and preserving the history of the area.
• Providing a programme of talks and visits, workshops and public displays.
• Publishing newsletters, papers and other literature.
• Encouraging the establishment of a permanent collection of photographs, documents and artefacts relating to the local history.
• Taking such steps as necessary to preserve and/or retain buildings or artefacts of an historic nature.

The Fleet & Crookham Local History Groups hold nine meetings a year with talks on local history, plus some visits andpublish three newsletters a year for members. The Group present displays in Fleet Library, Hart Shopping Centre and at Dogmersfield Fete.
Members usually run 'Meet the Local History Detectives' sessions to which the public are invited to ask questions, share memories and offer items to the archive.

User Cost/Charge Information
Categories of membership - Subscriptions are due for renewal by the end of January each year. Individual subscription £14 annually. Family subscription £20 annually. Benefits of membership: Free entry to talks. 3 newsletters a year. Opportunities to share your knowledge and learn more about local history. Support the recording and preservation of our area's history. Visitors to talks are welcome - £3.00 per visit.
