About

The Emerge Advocacy Hospital Team can help young people aged 10-25 who are attending the Accident & Emergency Department (A&E) at Frimley Park Hospital due to a mental health crisis, including self-harm or suicide attempt. They offer non-clinical support to help a young person during and after their time in A&E.
Emerge Advocacy Youth Support Workers help young people to:
* Feel calmer during times of crisis
* Feel heard and understood without judgement
* Reduce anxiety and emotional distress while in hospital
* Build confidence and hope for the future
* Better understand and communicate their needs to clinical staff
* Access continued support after discharge, helping them recover in the community
See the Frimley Park Hospital contacts below. Emerge Advocacy are available 19.00-23.00 Monday to Saturday and alternate Wednesdays 15.00-18.00 to come and be with you during your admission to Frimley Park Hospital.

About Emerge Advocacy

Emerge Advocacy provides non-clinical support for children and young people attending the A & E departments in hospitals in Surrey, Slough and Kent because of concerns for their mental health. Emerge Advocacy youth support workers are there at participating hospitals to offer support and a voice of hope to people aged 10-25 attending A&E because of self-harm, a suicide attempt, or an emotional crisis. They also offer follow-up support after discharge from hospital on a one-to-one basis. Their insight workshops are available for parents, carers, youth workers and other individuals looking to support young people with mental health struggles.
