Disabled Facilities Grants
About
Disabled facilities grants are available to help with changes to your home for safety, comfort and convenience such as level access showers, hoists, stairlifts, kitchen adaptations, ramping and access works.
Means tested grants of up to £30,000 are available to owner-occupiers and tenants, including tenants of social landlords. Use the Foundations calculator to check how much of a contribution, if any, you may have to pay: https://www.foundations.uk.com/guides/process-a-dfg/means-test-calculator/
An occupational therapist from social services must provide a referral before a grant application can be processed. To make a request, please visit the Hampshire County Council website and complete a self-referral form. The grant can be paid in full when the work is finished or in installments as it progresses.
You may have to repay some of the grant if:
-you move within five years of the work being completed and
-it was over £5,000 and the work has added value to the property
