Cardiac Rehab provide:
Staywell Programme: Staywell is designed for people who are at risk of suffering coronary heart disease or stroke but may also benefit people preparing for cancer surgery, those suffering from long-COVID or who have pulmonary diseases such as COPD, depending on the clinical presentation of the disease. Using Cardiac Rehab staff expertise, they help individuals through a combination of exercise and health education to improve their fitness, health and wellbeing, and ultimately lengthen their lives. Through the Staywell Programme, you will receive a tailored plan that is safe, supervised and an enjoyable introduction to physical activity within a controlled environment, whatever your current ability, age or experience. Cardiac rehabilitation: It is really important to keep on exercising long-term to retain your fitness once you have completed your NHS cardiac rehabilitation classes. These sessions, which are open to anyone referred to them by a health professional and are also attended by people on the "Staywell Scheme" for the primary prevention of heart disease.
Facilities for an NHS clinical team to run Phase III cardiac rehabilitation courses for patients discharged from the North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke (and from other hospitals on request). The hospital also runs a Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic from their site.
Exercise classes are available online, and guidance on exercising at home is also provided. Cardiac Rehab are also providing a Long-Covid Reconditioning exercise programme. Details about linked groups - the Hearty Riders cycling group and the Cardiac Rehab Golf Society are available on the web-site.
Opening hours: 8.00 - 20.00 Monday - Thursday, 8.00 - 17.30 Friday, 8.00 - 11.30 Saturday. The Cardiac Rehab Centre can be accessed via the entrance to Alton Sports Centre.

Basingstoke & Alton Cardiac Rehabilitation Charity ("Cardiac Rehab") helps residents of north, east and mid Hampshire (and the surrounding areas) to recover and then maintain their health and fitness after heart attacks and heart operations. Cardiac Rehab operates from purpose-built premises at Altonand their services revolve around a gym running exercise sessions for the purpose of cardiac rehabilitation, exclusively for people referred in from hospitals, GPs and other health professionals. As specialists in this field the Cardiac Rebhab team provide an exercise environment that is safe, secure, unintimidating and friendly.
