Basingstoke & Deane Canoe Club

About

The Basingstoke & Deane Canoe Club (BADCC) is a friendly, sociable community where you can learn, develop, and experience kayaking, canoeing, and Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP).

BADCC operates from two primary locations: our clubhouse at Colt Hill (adjacent to the Basingstoke Canal in Odiham) and the Queen Mary’s College (QMC) Sports Centre swimming pool in Basingstoke.

Regular Sessions: regular member paddling sessions at Colt Hill Wharf and Newbury Wharf on the River Kennet and Kennet & Avon Canal.
• Saturday Mornings: these year-round sessions are led by the club's coaches and volunteers. They typically include paddles along the Basingstoke Canal alongside coaching and individual tuition. The boat store opens at 09:30 for equipment hire (charges apply), with paddles starting at 10:00 and returning between 12:00 and 12:30. At least one qualified coach or leader is always available for support.
• Summer Evenings: During the summer, the club meets at Colt Hill Wharf on Wednesday evenings for a social paddle at 18:45 to be on the water by 19:00, finishing by 21:00 (daylight permitting).
• Winter Evenings: During winter, these Wednesday sessions move to the QMC pool. Full details are available on the website.

Beyond our local waters, the club organises white water, SUP, and sea kayaking trips across the UK and abroad.
